Warm welcome for town’s writers.

The pair behind the nom de plume SL Roman received a warm response from the reading retreat group at Kingston Library.

But the members of the group thought SL Roman was one person and were surprised to see Sarah Onions and Laura Meloni Bywaters walk in to talk about their successful Young Adult Fiction novel ‘One Year, One Night’.

The event was organised by librarian Valeria Digiacomo and differs from book clubs in that readers are encouraged to examine short excerpts in depth.

The audience was interested to hear how the writers would cope with the N. American publication of their first novel when it came to what publisher Keith Garton of Red Chair Press called ‘Britishisms’ like cuppa.
