This wordpress blog was started to support the first young adult novel One Year One Night by SL Roman.

The wartime historical fiction novel was authored by writers Laura Meloni Bywaters and Sarah Onions.

It was published in North America and elsewhere by Red Chair Press.

The blog was set up earlier this year to explain the background to the first literary collaboration by the two friends.

The Second World War in Britain is a vast subject and there’s a danger of getting swamped by all the research and ideas. So the blog can be used, in a way, to mop up what doesn’t make the novels.

The wordpress blog comes out about once a week and is normally posted on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and now, Bluesky.

The copy is checked and proofread by both writers and permission for photos is applied for, where needed.

Sarah and Laura welcomed the news that one thousand people had read the blog and look forward to writing more.
