Talking to young people in schools by the co-author of One Year One Night by SL Roman.

One of the face-to-face ways of engaging with young readers is to go into schools. I’m planning this, with my writing partner to promote our first Young Adult novel which was published in North America – and elsewhere, last year.

We’ve also spoken to a young reader group in Egham library, in the town where the original unlucky boy in our novel was killed by a German bomb.

Then I had the chance to speak at my granddaughter’s London school this summer where I was welcomed by a class of 30 six year olds.

Speaking at Woodmansterne School,London summer 25.

Now, my future plans are for my fellow author Laura Meloni Bywaters and me to speak at my secondary school in Kingston, Tiffin Girls’ School.

And hopefully I will return to my junior school in New York city – Rudolf Steiner on East 79th street. A book tour of New England is planned November 28-December 18 later this year – to promote One Year One Night.

Meanwhile we are working on novel #2 from the same era and plan to go to the new wartime exhibition at St Paul’s in London – which survived the Blitz.

Note to editor. SL Roman is the pen-name of Sarah Onions and Laura Meloni Bywaters who both live in the borough of Kingston in SW London. Sarah was born in Brighton in southern England and Laura was born in Rome.
