Fans of listening to stories can now hear our first Young Adult Novel on the digital audio podcast. One Year One Night by SL Roman was published in North America last year as an audio book, as well as in hardback form and a version for dyslexic readers.

It’s the story of an unlucky boy who is evacuated to an English village where he’s cared for by our heroine Annie. She in turn has to take over her father’s shop when WW2 is declared and also finds love with a half-French soldier.

It’s received some top reviews and has been described as a captivating novel with an amazing storyline. Prof Tim Crook who wrote The Secret Life of Mr Wilson recommended it be taken up by schools because of the quality of authenticity.

Red Chair Press in Massachusetts, New England is the publisher and myself – Sarah Onions and my writing partner – Laura Meloni Bywaters are the authors behind the pen-name.

The audio book was recorded by Laura Castiel and can be found at Spotify under the audiobook section.
