Sarah Onions and Laura Meloni Bywaters will talk about their
novel to nearly 200 girls at a highly rated school in March.
Sarah and Laura will be presenting to Key Stage 3 pupils who
are between 11 and 14.
The writers will address their young audience about One Year
One Night, their first Young Adult novel.
It’s a story of love, loss and resiliance, pinned to a teenage
diary but with comic moments and characters.
Our heroine Annie faces a year of change when her father
goes to war, she finds her first love and she cares for an
evacuated child.
The wartime theme setting provides extra interest and the
authors will be dressing up in clothes reminiscent of the age
of World War 2.
Sarah attended the grammar school in Kingston between 1972 and
1977 and was deputy Head Girl. She’s expecting to be
questioned about her time there and how it has changed.
