The co-authors SL Roman spent a week penning new words in their second historical romance following the success of One Year One Night.
Otherwise known as Sarah Onions and Laura Meloni, the scribes were able to devote six full days to developing the plot featuring urchins surviving in wartorn London in the Blitz in 1940.
They work together each using a notebook and a laptop but they discuss the next step first and kick around ideas.
Sometimes they check research online or go back to their notebooks. Sometimes they disagree with the way a character is developing but they almost always manage to find an answer.
They’ve been writing about some of the characters seen in One Year One Night such as the heroine Annie, her boyfriend Remy who’s half French and of course Mum and cantankerous Auntie Betty. Readers will also been treated to new characters who exist in the bigger setting of London’s East End, compared with the country village of Millside.
